Yes. Soul of Music Community Development Corporation currently operates under the fiscal sponsorship of Springboard for the Arts. As a result, charitable contributions made through our fiscal sponsor are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Every gift helps preserve African American music history, develop future leaders, and strengthen our community through education, cultural preservation, and intergenerational learning.
If you would like to honor or remember a loved one, we would be privileged to work with you to direct your gift in a meaningful way. Contributions may support scholarships for young adults participating in our Soul Forward Leaders program, museum exhibits, educational initiatives, oral history preservation, artifact collections, or other programs that reflect your family's values and create a lasting legacy.

Your tax-deductible contribution directly supports the mission of Soul of Music Community Development Corporation. Every gift helps us preserve African American music history while investing in the next generation of cultural leaders.
Donations help fund our daily operations, the development of museum exhibits and educational experiences, oral history preservation, community programming, and our Soul Forward Leaders earn-and-lead initiative, where young adults learn, lead, and earn while preserving the stories, music, and legacy of our community.
Whether your gift is large or small, it helps build a lasting cultural institution that preserves the past, inspires the future, and strengthens our community for generations to come.
-
Absolutely! While our greatest need today is financial support, there are many meaningful ways to become part of the Soul of Music Community Development Corporation family.
We welcome individuals who are passionate about preserving history, strengthening community, and investing in future generations. Opportunities include assisting with fundraising, event support, and organizational operations as we establish the Founders' Gallery.
We are also seeking dedicated Board Members, subject matter experts, teaching artists and faculty, community members willing to share their stories and lived experiences, and individuals or families interested in donating or lending artifacts for future exhibits.
Whether you contribute your time, expertise, stories, or resources, your involvement helps preserve a rich musical legacy while inspiring the leaders who will carry it forward.
-
Yes. We gratefully welcome in-kind contributions that help us build the Soul of Music Community Development Corporation and bring our vision to life.
As a growing nonprofit, donations of quality office furniture, technology, display cases, TV monitors for exhibits and documentary presentations, archival materials, musical artifacts, professional services, and other resources can make a significant impact. We also welcome individuals who are willing to share their expertise in areas such as museum development, education, fundraising, marketing, technology, and community engagement.
Because Soul of Music is being built in partnership with the community, every contribution—whether financial, in-kind, or through professional expertise—helps preserve history, develop future leaders, and strengthen our organization.
For individuals, families, businesses, and foundations interested in making transformational gifts, naming opportunities are available for selected exhibits, spaces, programs, and other significant features of the museum and Founders' Gallery. We would be pleased to discuss opportunities that reflect your vision and create a lasting legacy.
-
Absolutely. We are honored to help you celebrate the life, legacy, or accomplishments of someone who has made a meaningful difference in your life or in the community.
Memorial and tribute gifts may be directed toward scholarships for young adults in our Soul Forward Leaders program, museum exhibits, educational initiatives, artifact preservation, oral history projects, or other areas that reflect the interests, passions, and values of the individual you wish to honor.

Together, we can preserve not only the history of music, but also the stories and legacies of those whose lives continue to inspire others.
